I have an XP-80 and am only just learning how to use it. I am going to go through the start-up manual in the next week. I've noticed the user manual is quite brief and not very in depth. Does anyone know of a publication for XP users that is more in depth? Any decent magazines available solely for XP users? Any other decent BBSs?

Yours sincerely

Did you check the Roland website? there may be a video manual for that one.

The original post really puzzles me. I'm unsure how anyone can say the owner's manual is quite brief and doesn't go into depth. Every function is covered, albeit sometimes not as thoroughly as one might like (the ubiquitous Transmit Edit question), but generally everything's there.

Is this another question about the JV/XP manual that actually derives from a lack of understanding of MIDI or sequencing or editing or basic functions rather than from any shortcomings in the manual? Remember, the manual doesn't explain MIDI or editing parameters or general synth functions. It tells how to access those functions on the JV/XP.

Do you have specific questions?

BTW and FWIW: I have the Wizoo manual. It's okay, but you need the original manual along with it. It's not as thorough as the original manual, but it does elaborate on some functions in a little more detail.
