With all the excitement of the Podium 802 speakers...I failed to mention another great deal I purchased this week...

Slightly off topic, but something we can all use ...as ...musicians..

I now have the 2008 product of the year (electronics)...the Magic Jack..

I have read a lot of positive and negative things about the Magic Jack....Now that I have one, I can see most of the negative comments are from folks that just don't know how to use the thing or a PC..


The concept is great..You spend $20 on the hardware, and with a 5 year sign up..the cost of all calls..anywhere..even business calls..is only $12 a year......NOT a month...but a year....

My line phones are more than that a week..

You do need a broadband PC...and naturally can only make calls with the PC on...but you will receive all your calls via answer service provided by Magic Jack...You also select a telephone number with your local area code...

You simply attach the match box size unit via USB and plug any land phone into the other end of the Magic Jack...You also can assign Magic Jack to a headset, or as in my case my built in mic on my laptop..

Calls are clear and has all the features we are use to....

Ah yes, the TV ad with the guy with the 'bad hair' who says something like this: "How about if I said I could save you $100, $200, $300... even $400, $500, $600, ... even $700, $800, $900 ... $1000 OR MORE PER YEAR !!!" ...

Now there is something I can attest to. We use the Magic Jack (and Zenni optical. thank you Clark Howard)and it works like a charm.

We use it for our Fax printer and long distance phone. Well worth the money.....
