Ive just bought a new A-70 and was wondering does anyone have any of the expansion boards for the A70/A90. I was wondering how are the sounds and if there are a list of patches somewhere for the boards: VE-RD1, JV-IE, and VE-GS1. I think those are the names for the expansion boards. Thanks for the help.

Hi Melloror,

I've got an A-90 and A-70: both contain VERD-1's. Of the 3 expansion boards, the VERD-1 is the clear winner for piano and keyboard stuff. I've also got the SRX piano board, and find the VERD-1 gives it a run for the money, and actually MIDI's up quite nicely.

I have the VE-JV1, and find it has some nice sounds (but a clunky MIDI implementation). Haven't heard the VEGS-1, but it is not what I'm looking for on paper.

By far, the definitive source for info on the A-70/90 with patch lists is:
http://www.lilchips.com

David Green's lilchips site has a newsreader forum on the A-70/90 (keyboard.controller, I think)., with tons of info on the boards. Worth a look....

Regards,
Chris
