I think Zuki is going for a back up PA-800 or even a PA2Xpro...it would make sense considering he already knows the OS so well and loves the Korg sound and styles.

Whilst it is nice to have a different instrument around to provide alternate sounds and styles, when it comes to a backup, I would want an instrument exactly the same as my main one.

Hey, be nice to Ian. Besides, he's totally correct

Backup 800 is the answer and has been all along. I just needed to try a few different products, but realize that I'd never be satisfied, even as a 2nd, vs the 800.

Donny, you were correct in suggesting to just learn the ins and outs of the 800 and stay with it - good advice!

Next up - AX-Synth in late summer Anyone want a T2?

Even when Donny is mean to me...he is nice.

I figured you'd want another PA...sometimes you just have try all the other options out to be sure...plus, having an identical backup just makes more sense.

Good luck with selling the T2...you shouldn't have any trouble.

Ian

PS...I think Donny's going to sell his E-50 very soon.

Zuki...glad you now realize what you like to play.....why not sell the T2 quick & just sit back save the bucks for a while & just learn & use the PA800 to it's full potential on stage as I doubt anything will happen to the PA800 under normal use & if God forbid something does occur you can always run out & buy another KB asap ....but by holding off & with the money in reserve it is possible by years end something new will come to market also as an "NEW" alternative....meanwhile your gigging and making bucks every day.....

Ian right now Im happy with the S900 it continues to be my favorite gigging ax on stage.....I also enjoy the E50 very much to for different reasons....actually there are some features on the E50 that I like much better then the S900 like, key-feel, make up editing tools unsurpassed on any arranger, "User Program List" a feature that saves all information including transpose by far one of the most easiest usable navigational features on an arranger KB for live play, great SMf playback & lyrics/chord readout. Of course there are drawbacks like lack of part EQ, 2 step transpose on board 1 step like the S900, No Mic input, .....both KB's are different but in a good way...so for now I'm happy and gigging what else can you ask for?

Are we SURE that zuki isn't Donny under a different handle? Maybe that's why zuki never posts music? In case we notice the playing similarities to Donny...

What is the strangest thing about zuki's Odyssey is that both the products that he tried this time around, he has had in the past, and rejected outright. But seemed to have not enough faith in his initial evaluation to make a second try unnecessary. Arrangers, just like people, on the whole, do NOT change much after they are 'grown up'. If you reject them then, there's little chance that YOU have changed enough to like them the second time around.

Look, each arranger has it's strong and weak points. But until we pressure the manufacturers to standardize the MIDI codes for arranger control, we will NEVER be able to put a system together from separate arrangers that will satisfy us. You still end up, at least in the arranger section, playing either one OR the other, never them BOTH. But make the manufacturers put the codes in so that Variation and Fill selection on the one controls the other, and now you can cherry pick what each is best at.

In the meantime, unless your act is primarily MP3's, the only real backup for an arranger is another of the same...

Donny and I are the same......we experiment to try to find the solution that will make our audience happy. Trying different things spawns imagination, IMO.

I never tried the T2 in the past, thank you. Thought the cool keybed, pop-up, extra stuff was worth exploring.

I never tried the E60 in the past, thank you. Thought the 76 keys might be nice.

It's nice of you to keep track of my plight though.

After I do a myriad of other tasks first, I'll send you a personal demo - OK?
