I have a BR532 Boss 4-track digital recorder. I have an opportunity to trade it a few pennies for a BR8. The 532 let you record two tracks simultaneously. What about the BR8? The BR8 also uses 100mg zip disks. I really don't want to delve into more obsolete memory systems, the SD cards on the 532 are bad enough.

Would there be any advantage to trading 'up' except to gain 4 more similar tracks ? I mostly record demos alone and haven't done much multi-tracking.

I could only find the BR8 TurboStart PDF, not the entire manual.

BR-8 only records two at a time as well. And I would NOT consider a ZIP disk format compared to a solid state SD card. Zip's are notoriously unreliable, especially after they have been used a while.

Is the BR-8 a new unit? Or has it been used..? Zip stores 100MB of sound data. SD card go as high as 12MB in the BR532...

Personally, if you want to start multitracking, I'd get an interface and start using your computer. Far easier, more flexible, and WAY more than eight tracks...
