Just got off the phone with Bose and ordered the new Bose L1 Compact system. It is not available yet - will ship first week in May. So anyone going to stores looking for it will not find it in the stores yet.

I'll let everyone know how it compares to my other L1.

Good luck with it Dean! Congrats! I cant wait to hear how it handles the FULL band sound of an arranger KB.

Dean - Way to go - The new smaller system looks pretty cool and of course being a Bose the performance should be up there! And as an L1 owner, you are the perfect guy to tell it like it is!

Good Luck Hammer. I’ve been waiting for a smaller version of the L1 for years, but it looks like the Compact may be specifically directed to the acoustic guitar player/singer.
Did you read the recent discussion by Ken-at-Bose on the Bose forum? He pretty much convinced me to wait for the Mid-Size version as I like to have a fuller sound than it seems that the Compact can offer. But, I’ll wait to hear a review of an arranger board player/singer before I make a final decision.
Ciao,
Jerry

I agree...it could be the cats meow or not....lets not jump the gun and reserve opinions until it is out and tested for our needs,

When I spoke with Bose this morning I was told using the system witb a single keyboard should work out very well. We will see. What is the scoop on the "medium system" mentioned above?

Hammer,
There is no Mid-Size system. It was a comment I made to Ken-at-Bose. As I said earlier, I got the impression that the Compact would not be sufficient for an arranger board, especially for a full bass sound. Man, I would love to see the Compact work well for arranger boards. It would be a great fit for me if it did.
Ciao,
Jerry

I think we are getting to the dispute again about what is "best" for anyone. I play only for the older generation and play the music you would expect them to enjoy. Seldom, if ever, do I have to "crank up" the sound for them. They also do not enjoy "thumping" kickass bass. As a result, what might not work for someone playing dance clubs or current music usually works just great for me. The level of bass I get from the single Bose L1 I run now is more than enough for my gigs and I often have to back off the bass. I suspect the smaller system will fit well into my gig requirements. After I get it and use it on several gigs I will post my experience and will be totally up front about it.
