I'm looking for a 49 or less keys usb controller to use with Mac osx leopard Garage band 08

Can anyone recommend one thats made for dummies like myself.

I know nothing about them, I want to use it on my lap while my macbook pro is on the table.

and are there programs for it if i didnt want to use garage band and just plug it in and play regular piano?
