Help! On my JV-1010 Emagic CD, there is a folder that says "JV-1010 Reference Manual." I open that and get a folder that says "figs." Open that, and nothing. I was lead to believe by the Quick Start Manual that there exists a more complete manual on this CDROM, but I apparently can't get to it. Am I doing something wrong? Is the disk bad? Thanks for the help, Josh

Yes, it's a reference manual...
In the folder there is 8 HTML documents covering various aspects of the JV1010; these documents can be opened with any Internet browser (Nestcape, IE, Opera...)
In the folder figs are the pictures in GIF format displayed in the HTML documents....

MGomes...
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, yes, I found the reference manuals, thanks to you. Now my problem is the software itself! I can't seem to do what I want to. Is there a more 1010-specific manual somewhere on the web?

Thanks, Josh

Josh,

Look for a document "SoundDiver Intro" in the same folder of SoundDiver executable. You'll need Adobe Acrobat to read this (why Roland doesn't put all manuals in same format?.
The manual is a brief indrotuction to Sound Diver functions. If you still need help, please contact me and say what you want to do with SD.

Here's my question: once I boot up the JV and load Emagic, it scannes and gets all the sounds in the unit. Then the manual says I should save this as a library. But in the software, I can only build a library...is this the same as "save?"
Thanks for all your help on this...

Josh,

A library is a collection of settings: system setup, temporary patch, performance and the patches & rhythm set within the perfomance.
You can receive patches from the JV memory, edit from scratch or load from midi or sysex files.
Then, when you build a library you can arrange the patches anyway you want and select save from File Menu to save the library to disk.
