Seems that it is a LOT easier for some to simply discuss specs than the far more difficult task of actually PLAYING music or talking about it. Even our 'cha-cha' friend, often the first to chide others for not practicing enough rarely EVER posts about actually PLAYING music.
Sometimes I get the impression this is like a gardening forum, where they only discuss spades and forks, never gardening!
Since I am a songwriter, over the past several years, I have posted plenty of songs done in arranger mode. I always appreciate feedback and sometimes I do get a good amount of it but it's not like anyone is waiting with baited breath to hear a new tune done on an arranger and the thread really takes off. Maybe that says something for my songwriting, haha. I finally gave up and said Screw it, if it's just me and guitar, I am posting it.
I pretty much suck at arranger but I fake out my audiences.
I go back to "If it's about music, it's fair game," make a post!
Well for me this forum has really been about a User's (as opposed to advertisers/pro reviewers) take on Musical equipment - especially, obviously, Keyboards/Arrangers.
I also find a few Tips n Tricks regarding gigs, I guess, in general.
The rest is, of course, Pissing Contests, and pissing and moaning contests...
I guess I never REALLY expected heavy duty lessons in Playing Techniques etc.
We are running out of things to piss and moan about, I think...
Most of the time, lately, all the pissing and moaning has been about the pissing and moaning!
C'mon, Roland, c'mon Korg, c'mon Yamaha!... come out with a new arranger! Then everybody can piss and moan about that instead of each other for a change!
