Hi friends,

I have attached a PDF you can download, which explains a lot about converting older arranger (PSR-9000, Tyros, Tyros 2) data into Tyros 3 format.

http://www.4shared.com/file/112494024/b413b44f/Easy_upgrade_to_Tyros3.html

This is actually a PDF downloaded directly from the www.music-tyros.com website.

Some may have seen this already.

Hope you find this helpful.

Ian

Hey Ian-

Got anything that takes Tyros 3 styles/instruments and makes them compatible with a T2?

Thanks Ian:

I already did all the above, one thing, only IF you are as picky as me, I am going throughout all my registrations needless to say to RE-VOICE some, but must importantly, I notice, again, to MY ears, I am making some adjustments in Balances, volumes, etc.
Let's say, I am FINE TUNING them.

I just want to mention that I have use my T3 since the very next day I got it(last week, Tuesday night), keep in mind that that I play for Seniors, so, a few members of my audience may need a hearing aid, but, most can hear very well, and also they can be your most harsh critic, no sugar coating.

I began playing at each one of the dances and say nothing regarding the new keyboard, well, they notice immediately in each of the dances, and I must say, in a VERY, VERY positive way.
So, the theory/myth of "the people do not care or notice", I guess, that "myth" is busted as far I am concern.

mdorantes,

I can relate to what you're saying, only I've experienced it in regards to my upgrade from the PSR-3000 to the S900...especially with the Sax and Guitar voices...I have several regular listeners, who came up and asked if I was using something new...the Sax voices were the most noticeable.

You're right; some people will be able to hear the difference.

I'm glad you're enjoying the Tyros3...sales have been very good recently, in spite of the recession...it's quite a keyboard.

Manual,
Like you, I used my Tyros 3 on it's first gig the very next day after getting it. I have provided a link below which has several conversion programs provided by Yamaha. I have used them on thousands of styles with good luck. Not all the styles convert well but the many that do sound very good.

I also play only senior gigs and have experienced the same response from them - especially when I added my Bose system to the mix. I also have not been thrilled with the balance of most of the preset styles and one-by-one have "tweaked" them as i needed them. Yamaha did not do a good job here in my opinion - but I have been told the Tyros 1 and Tyros 2 keyboards had the same problem.

I have owned my Tyros 3 since Dec. of 2008 and after about 7 months I have hundreds of songs setup with styles - it just takes time. I started out by selecting 50 of the most often requested songs and used them for gigs and each day I added a few more. I often use styles from other Yamaha keyboards and convert them. Sometimes they need no conversion at all.

Feel free to email me direct if you run into any questions.

here is the link.
