Hi gang,

I had another 50th anniversary today and it was one of those which took place in 2 seperate rooms. So I needed a double setup. For the cocktail hour, I used 1 CM 30. There were 80+ people and that little amp carried the room. I had the mic fired through the keyboard and it sounded great. I even had dancers. Then they did a renewal of vows, and that little PA was more than sufficient. I bought this unit about a year ago when everyone was talking about it, but this is the first time I've taken it out on a job. It was great. Then I went into the main room where my Bose L1 Compact was waiting for me. Heaven!

Joe

Ditto here, Joe. I've used my CM-30's only twice, but both times they have come thru with flying colors. I have nothing of similar size to compare them with, but for a group of up to 100 or so I feel they are very versatile and sound just great.

Hi Joe.....yes the Roland CM 30's can be a life saver for sure....I sold both of mine but, I should of kept one just in case. As long as you dont push them too much and "stay within their power range" they surly sound great and have sufficient plug in features to adequately accomplish the task when called upon.A great buy at $179.00 or so.

Good advice for just about ANY PA or stereo system.

I use mine every week for small meetings. Usually use an acoustic nylon string or my MP 30. Works great for background music for 50 people. Neat little "boxes".

For larger jobss, I have been using a Jazzkat Phatcat. Two channels, a 12", on-board effects and 200 wattx. Has a mike in and has a tube pre-amp option for one channel. Have used it for upright, piano, guitar, vcals and combinations of all of the above. Small and liteweight. Neat "old school" folks hand-make them. Check them out!

Standard tripod Mic Stand will do well.

I'm going to the tripods myself; the old steel base stands are heavier and more awkward.

Also, has anyone recorded directly from a CM-30? I'd like to use my Zoom H2, but there doesn't seem to be acceptable out(s) except the steroe link(s). If you have, how do you hook that up?

I use one or both of my CM30's for my NH jobs. One on the floor under my keyboard is usually more than enough for the 40-50 people I play for. I have used two on stands(tripod mic), in stereo, but it is usually an overkill for me. I haven't tried the ones Fran has. They may be better for larger venues, but mine are plenty good for my needs.
