I can't seem to find a drive for my BR1180. Are they still available? What I need is a CD1BR-1, the drive that should have come with the unit. I'm really kicking myself now for buying a "studio in a box" system. I should have gone PC, but I don't know the first thing about computers and knew absolutely nada when i bought the BR1180.

I have heard that the drives are now obsolete. I guess it could be true, but I'm getting tired of mixing my music down to a cassette . When I record into the BR1180 , I like how it sounds, but it sounds awful on the cassette. Any suggestions?

You have really got only 2 choices. One is to try to find a compatible CD drive. But the other choice is to buy a cheap PC with a CD burner which ( probably wont cost much more than the BR1180 CD ) and record your final mix to the PC to put on CD.

Thanks Nigel.
If I get a pc with a CD burner where on my BR1180 would I connect it to. would it be the optical jack, because a clerk at the local music store said that it wouldn't be possible to burn down to a CD burner with the jacks that are on the BR1180.

thanks for the help

Well you could simply record directly from the analog stereo outputs of the BR-1180. As long you have a good quality audio card you should get good results. The more expensive option is to have a PC card with a SPDIF digital connector to record digitally from the optical connector on the BR-1180.

If you could find an internal CD/RW drive that would be the easiest option.
