I really need to know if House or Dance is suitible for multi-purpose Drumloops as per my previous message ". I can't get demo's of these anywhere so if you have either can you comment on them please?

And read my previous message "Drumloops on SR-JV80 expansion boards" if you'd be so kind.

I have the Dance board. It has a variety of loops, acid, hiphopp, house, and a few other goodies. There are also useful drumkits and rhythm sets, plus more vocal fx, pianos, pads, brass hits. I like it because it is a good all 'round board; not focused on hiphop or house or techno, just a little of everything. I only have a passing interest in this kind of stuff, so this board works dandy for me. You might like a more specifically oriented board though, I don't know.
I have no way to make mp3 or .wav files, but I could make you a cassette tape of all the loops for you, if you wantd to send me your mailing address. I also have a mp3 download of the house board, but it is a song created using the board, so it doesn't just go through the loops 1 by 1. I got it from zzounds.com, but I think they've gotten rid of a lot of their audio samples lately. I could throw that on the tape as well. Just lemee know.

Oohh! UK? Maybe not so easy to send a tape after all. I know somebody who can make an mp3, but it might be a few days. My computer is pretty slow, and not much horsepower.

Well upon what you've said I feel I might share the same opinion as I'm looking for versatility aswell as specific genre so thankyou.

Indeed Thanks very much for responding. Anyway I can download this House demo? It's not the one from the Houseworx Sample CD Website is it?

That's ok. The track sounds dead proffesional with contempory Black Female Vocals (unworkable really) over a solid "phat" groove, so to speak. Is it the same?

Roland made a CD with a demo of all the plug in boards. See if you can find on at a Roland dealer. I think it comes in the box with the JV1010 - maybe you can open a box, borrow it and make your decision that way.

I don't know anything about a Houseworks CD. As I said, I got the demo from
zzounds.com

Uncle Dave, the Roland demo disks don't haveany demos of the dance board because they aren't making that board anymore. I just took a risk and bought it from ebay, because it had a variety of dance loops rather than going specific.

Yes I have the Roland "EXPANSION" Demo CD II to and it only covers SR-JV80-01(Pop) to SR-JV80-14(World Asia Collection) not including the much celebrated SR-JV80-06(Dance Collection) .

I also downloaded the "House" Demo from zzounds.com

It sounded lush. Not my genre at all but the sounds were extremely usable in my sphere which is ambient techno. I do feel this is how I expected the Dance board to sounds. Am I right?

I'm a little worried about the Dance Board on the basis that I already have the HipHop Board and wonder how much of that caters for what I'm likely to find on the elusive SR-JV80-06 Dance.

My guess is that the house board would be better for you if you already have the hip-hop board.

Ok in Retrospect it looks as though I was romanticising about the SR-JV80-19 and that House could be subtley changed but the patches on this synth expansion board are not as tweakable as on other boards.

Too many one hit chords means the longevity of this boards popularity is greatly reduced. The beat phrases are monotonous and actually sound silly when tempo sync'd to slower BPM tunes.

There's no way of bringing it down and very few patches considering it's supposed to represent a whole genre.

I'm returning this board and buying THE SESSION. There, how's that for a radical change for the better.

At least that has brilliant synths waves on it. Anyone wanna buy an EXPERIENCE II board from me for Ģ30?
