I see a lot of patch files on the web for xp 80 that are sysex files. HOw do I load these into my xp80. If I save it in a diak and try to load it, xp80 does not even recognize the .syx file extension. But I see tonnes of files in this format being posted on the net.. what am I missing? Do I need some sort of tool or something.

Please help.

Sysex is normally meant to be sent via your MIDI port, ie from an external sequencer.
However, you can embed sysex into .mid files etc. Also, the native XP/MRC format supports embedded sysex.
