Good pianist. Don't know if she can play arrangers. They aren't pianos.

Well, she's got one there, so why don't we give her the benefit of the doubt?

she is a classical trained pianist,a professional composer, but maybe she can't play an arranger?

I'm sure she can play one if she takes the time to learn how to operate it, but I know LOTS of piano players that simply cannot train their left hands to just make chords.
They can only read and/or memorize notes.
I know, I know, you can use arrangers in other manners, but they are primarily designed to play left-hand chords and right-hand melodies and riffs.

Probably the same number of arranger players are equally fooled into thinking that they can play piano, too. All evidence to the contrary...

Perhaps, if thinking that one can play an arranger, while one CAN play the piano is an erroneous proposition, the reverse should be a given?

Personally, I think that if one HAS the technique to play a piano well, all that needs to be applied is effort at understanding the operation of the arranger. However, the converse is not necessarily the case...

Right, it would take me a long time to be comfortable on piano, because of the lack of left hand training in that manner.
I had to turn down a very lucrative piano job a couple of years ago. I first accepted it and started practicing piano stuff but my wrists and fingers just couldn't hold up to the stress of playing the weighted action.
