If it is for live work with male vocal, I would recommend a Cardioid Dynamic over Condenser type.

Ease of use, just one criteria there.

If for RECORDING, well, that's a different story.

I love my Shure Beta 87... Sounds great with my S900 and JBL Eon G2's ...

The absolute best, hand-held mic I can recommend is the Samson Q7, and they are very inexpensive. The clarity is excellent, frequency response is quite wide, outstanding feedback rejection and a gripping surface that makes them non-slip.

Good Luck,

Gary

I have a just-like-new Heil PR20, with all accessories. Been used maybe 4 nights. http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/pro...hone?sku=271010
$80.
I also have the SM-1 Spider Mount that fits it when needed. $40.
That's $100. less than if you buy them new.

All mics are good when matched up with your vocal type. Some people swear by a brand, but you need to try or research to see what compliments your vocal. eq, cut-off, sensitivity all matter, that why there are so many types out there

True that, Frank...

But I'll still put my two cents in for the EV N/Dym 767a
