Yes, he was a genius ... I had only recently purchased a group of his recordings from iTunes ..

I still have the 4 track reel to reel that he developed with concord co back about 1960 so Mary Ford could sing all the harmonies on different tracks and bounce them. we used it for mastering in those days.It cost a ton of bucks in 1960. I have drawers full of master reels too. I wonder if any of it still works

R.I.P. Mr. Paul. What a fantastic legacy he left to the world. Not many come here and change things the way he did.

Bill, Les Paul and Mary Ford were big name entertainers, with multiple tracking and echo on the instruments in the early 50's. Was the 4-track not invented until the early 60's? I would have thought it was way before that.

The music world sure lost a legend. And, he was playig one night a week in NY until about a year ago.
