Can someone please tell me exactly what to get to add DIMM memory to my T3? The manual is not clear and I'm a bit dense.

Any T3 owner who has already installed DIMM memory, please tell me what to buy and where to buy it.

Thanks in advance
Tim

Tim,

I just did add RAM to my T3. Make sure you use two sticks - either 2 512 megs or 2 256 megs. I tried using just one - won't work.

Your users manual specifies which exact Dimms to buy. They are available on the internet -not cheap in my opinion.

The link provided above also has the specs.

Could you give specific info on what you actually ordered ( model no, etc.) and from what website and I will then order the same, knowing that I can be assured if it worked for you it will work for me ?
Thanks
tim

I seem to recall there was a limit on the number of chips on each stick - I think it was 8 - read very carefully what it says, and then see if you have too many chips on the PCB stick.

Tim,
I bought 1 GB DIMM for my Tyros 3 last week on ebay from Sean Fournier. $49.95 plus shipping. Received them in four days. They fit right in and work fine.
http://cgi.ebay.com/1GB-YAMAHA-Motif-ES-XS-TYROS3-TYROS-3-RAM-MEMORY-NEW-1G_W0QQitemZ220332195078QQihZ012QQcategoryZ14913QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26it u%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26ps%3D5

I may have paid a little more as they are advertised specifically for Tyros3. I found others advertised and inquired about compatability and was told that the those C133 168 pin DIMM were not for the Yamaha keyboards.
