I have a fast laptop and an XP60. Will software enable my computer to actually record onto my computer? or does it just control my keyboard. The reason i ask is that i would like to be able to bypass the Xp's performance mode so i can use more than one EFX at a time. I'd also like to be able to phrase sample. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi

MIDI only controls the keyboard, and that is what MIDI-software does too..

If you want to record the actual SOUND, you will need a computer recording system.. You will need some sort of hardware (usually a soundcard or USB-unit) that you can plug the audio-outs of your keyboard into, and you will need some software to handle multitrack audio recording.. Then you can record the audio track by track and process each track if you like to..

By using MIDI I am afraid you will not get what you are looking for..
