Here's what happened... I wanted to get involved in a Praise band. All I had was a FATAR SL-880 (heavy) 88 key controller and a JV1010. So I bought a used XP-50 from ebay for 490 usd. I had originally thought I'd need the disk drive to playback sequences. I don't yet edit/create my own sounds. Then I join the Praise band at my church and I'm using the XP-50 for organs/strings/EP's/horns. Nothing really complicated. The Praise band already has a piano player so I'm filling in with added sounds ya know. After a few months I'm getting bummed out over the XP-50's feel. Way to fast for me. So off to guitar center I go. I loved the XP-30's feel, but I was also getting bummed about missing the bass notes for Bm, A and G chords mainly because of the 61 key limitation. So for kicks I try the RS-9. Nice and light, yet it's feel was to me, way better than the XP-50 abd perhaps only a hair less then the XP-30's.

Knowing I had a perfectly good JV1010 at home which has over a 1,000 JP patches anyway with the Session board, and knowing that the XP-30's techno board is really useless to me, and that I'm not into creating sounds and have yet to use the XP-50's disk drive... I sold GC my XP-50 and bought the RS-9. I walked out with a RS-9 and a bill for $445 usd.

I was remarkably surprised at how well the RS-9 controlls the JV-1010.

Question: Since the RS-9 uses XV sounds.... I think I should keep posting about the RS-5/9 in this board no?

Peace <><
