This is another question from someone new to the JV1080. When choosing patches in a performance, how can you ensure that the sound will be exactly the same as when in patch mode ? Lots of the patches change (as in their reverb and EFX etc) when you put them into a performance - you find the sound you want in patch mode, then when you select it as part of a performance it sounds totally different! So basically how do you stop this from happening.

The JV1080 is a great module, but what you're complaining about is one of it's short comings.

To obtain all of the FX setting (Reverb, etc.) from a patch, set the [EFFECT] output to PAT. This will copy all of the settings to the performance.

The thing is that you only have 1 FX unit in the JV1080. If there is only one sound out of the 16 in the performance that you want to sound like it did in PATCH mode, then simply set the EFX Source (in the [EFFECT] menu) to the part that has the sound that you want to add the FX to.

You can only do this to 1 out of the 16 though. It sucks, but the price of the JV1080 would suck if Roland included 16 separate FX units.

The Infamous EPU.
