I received my s910 on Monday and have spent a few hours with it. I had some styles that were supposed to be Tyros 3 styles to load. If they were T3 styles, they did not load. At this point I tend to doubt they were from the T3.

Here's a quick run down so far
1. screen is excellent, but not as nice as the T3
2. you can in fact take a style change tempo, rename and it and save it to Music Finder via a new dedicated button. If you record an mp3 you can save it to Music Finder with the new dedicated button that brings you directly to the MFD edit screen. Likewise you can do the same for midi files and styles. If it's an mp3 you're working with MFD labels it (AUDIO) and displays it as such. If you record a midi file or save a midi file to MFD it calls it a (SONG) and if you simply take a style let's say 40s big band style you can rename the style for the song it's most appropriate for. It's not as powerful as Songbook on the Korg arranger series, but it's a step in the right direction. I'll certainly be using this feature to supplement gig disks and registrations.
3. The USB recording interface is an improvement to what is on Tyros 2 and the s900. BTW it you record an mp3 Music Finder will point it to the mp3 stored on the USB stick.
4. A number of the older styles have been improved and reworked.
5. Seems as though there could be slight improvement in the keybed, but I think it's more a psychological thing that an improved keybed.
6. My s900 registrations worked too.
7. Like T3 you can tap a dedicated button that let's you see what's in each of the OTS settings.

Bottom line I'm happy with the board. It is a marginal upgrade, but considering the improved screen and improved MFD functions it's worth the upgrade. I sold my s900 at the right time so my cost to upgrade was minimal.

Thanks Frankieve for prompt delivery and your usual good service. Nice doing business with you.

Hi Steve...I got your email, and I appreciate the great positive review.

I probably won't get one for a while as Yamaha is filling pre-orders first.

Could you try some unconverted Tyros3 styles in it...Coaster Tim was hoping the Ethereal Ballad, Blockbuster, and several styles would work without much work...I believe they may use sounds that aren't on the S910, so a bit of revoicing may be in order.

Thanks for the heads up.

Ian
