From any style screen either in the keyboard or on a USB stick choose a style, then click “ add to MFD”(new feature) You are then taken to “Music Finder Record Edit” Here you can make any necessary edits i.e. rename style to the song it will be used for, change tempo, choose intros 1, 2 or 3, choose main a, b, c or d or choose genre. If you’re using a USB stick the path to where the file is located will also be shown, otherwise it shows the path to the style built into the s910.
It also allows you to save midi files or mp3s to the MFD. Once they are saved to MFD midi files are labeled as “SONGS” and mp3s are labeled as “AUDIO.” Styles are simply labeled by the name of the style used. Unlike the Korg Songbook MFD does not save key changes.
The changes allow the user to save 3rd party styles to mfd that are stored on a USB stick. Since on board memory is very limited this new feature adds much more flexibility to the MFD function. This feature has never been avaliable on Yamaha arrangers. What baffles me is why it's not on the flagship Tyros3?? Well, let me re-phrase that, I'm not baffled. It's Yamaha's marketing department in action. I gotta believe a software upgrade could make that feature to s900, T3 and T2.
