Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I would look for if I wanted to find information about sound as well as all the terminology that is used in the XP manual. Like if I wanted to find a book explaining the different types of sound waves. There is some terminology in the manual that I don't quite understand. Any suggestions? Otherwise I'm going to be wandering around Borders Book Store for a long time! Have a nice day!

If I understand your post correctly, it's sounds like what you want is a primer on "beginning synthesis" of the "basics of synthesis," but it's hard to be sure without knowing which terms in the XP manual are giving you trouble.

I do think Keyboard magazine has something of this sort; certainly they have had numerous column series over the years dealing with it. Try going to their website http://www.keyboardmag.com and snooping around, especially in publications, and if you don't find anything, email one of the editors and ask for some suggestions.

Hi

Also try SoundOnSound, http://www.sospubs.co.uk
Check out their article archives; they have had some article-series on the basics of synths etc..
