I'm notorius for buying new stuff and not getting rid of the old (and I'm not alone.....right, Russ ). One thing I truly do admire Donny and Fran for is not accumulating 'crap'. For instance, at the moment I need (want) to upgrade my VP-550 to a VP-770 (in one fell swoop, they included every new feature I ever wanted in the old one). Clearly, in the case of such a specialized instrument, I don't need to keep the old one, but what is the best way to handle this; private sale, trade-in, etc. Which outfits have the best record for fair trade-ins? Is every transaction unique? Is there a list of trade-in values? What's the best place to sell privately? Is it worth it to get an experienced seller (like, say, Fran or Donny - seriously) to sell it for me? Please help. I can't afford to keep accumulating all this stuff and stay married at the same time.
