My friend told me yesterday that rather than getting a tone module i should
just get them for free off the net...I was up until 3am last night trying to
make some sense out of it all on Deja...this patching bizness. I have a roland XP-10 (sound canvas chip)
I would like more sounds(patches) but
cannot figure out how to get them off of the net and into my keyboard. I
know that when i download some midi files, im told that sysex must be sent
to my keyboard, and then i hear the correct patches. But other than that, i
have no idea. I have a midi editor called unisyn...It is my hope that you are more enlightened than me on this...
aslo, have you ever opened a midi file in Cakewalk and then sometimes it'll say
that it has too send System exclusive messages into the synth...and then
after you do dat you hit play and then you have no idea where these awesome
sounds are coming from...so then you try to go to UTILITY and say write tone
and try to save whichever part you really liked... and then after you tyurn
off the XP-10 and go to the user bank where you wote the sound and it doesnt
sound anything like it?? THAT IS SOO FRUSTRATING.......
basically, what im asking is, do you know where to get any kind of file that on the net that I can somehow load into Cakewalk and then into my synth to give me an extra sound on my XP-10?
