Any other users out there have problems with inconsistent volume on patches on their JV-1010?

One patch will sound fine at the current volume, but another will be much quiter than the previous patch. I've had to jack up the volume on the unit to maximum in order to match the volume of previous sounds.

This happens with both the internal sounds as well as the patches on the 60s & 70s card I installed.

Anyone else ever have this problem, and if so, what was the solution?

Thanks,
Alan

I have had the same problem. I basically change the volume level manually. I think Roland cut quite a few corners on the JV-1010 to keep the price down, and also to maintain interest in the JV-1080, and JV-2080. This box is good, but the 10/2080 is better.

I think the volume problem is more to do with the effects used on certain patches more than anything else….

My volume challenges have been well beyond just the differences in patch volumes (which seems to be pretty common in many synths); it seems that there are WIDE volume changes as I go from one octive to another!!! I use a Yamaha WX5 wind controller (I'm a sax player), and have to use a volume pedal to compensate for the big changes within each patch! Maybe I'll contact Roland, cuz it sure shouldn't be so inconsistant..........
