Is there a program to convert from one sample format to another? I have a Korg M3 and don't like its brass solo sounds, so I'd like to use the ones in kontakt 3. Is this even possible? Or maybe somebody wants to trade its Tyros 2 for my M3. :-D
It's very likely that the Kontakt 3 files are encrypted and so conversion software would'nt work on them. Not that you will find any that converts directly to KORG format from kontakt.
To get around the encryption you have to use programs like Extreme Sample Converter as they can run kontakt as a VSTi and digitally sample the notes from the sounds into a new unprotected multisample.
From there you can use a program like Awave Studio to convert the sound to KORG format.

Thanks Irishacts. Hi chas. I bought the M3 about three months ago and have used it very little actually. Other than upgrading the OS to 2.0 I've done no HW upgrades. I used to own a Tyros 2 and am actually selling the M3 on CL in order to finance another one (Tyros 3 is just too expensive) or maybe a PSR-S910. I almost forgot. It's a 61 keys M3.
