Hello everyone:

Please help, last night, I was programing my E80 for about 3-4 hours everything really great, and suddenly, panel was normal, all the lighted buttons, but NO sound.....I turn it off, and turn it back on, and NOTHING.....did it got hot?,

I tried again about an hour later, and same thing. I really let it cool, I went to sleep, when I got up, to the E80 and tried again, same thing, plays for a second after the OS booting, then goes silent.

I did save all the work I was doing with the User Programs saving all the Style Makeup tools settings, levels, etc....after I did that, I performed a Factory Reset, after that, the E80 keep silent.

Has anybody experience something similar?
I appreciate ANY ideas, I probably will call the music store and let them know and ask them where in my hometown there is an Authorized Roland E80 service center. (Phoenix AZ).
Thank you

Manuel

Are you listening to the onboard speakers?
Does it put out sound from the line outs?
Does it put out sound from the headphones?
You know there is a switch to turn on/off the speakers, on the right front by the headphone jack.
Other than that, I can't think of anything.

Hi Don:

Nop, I was playing while it quit last night, I now tried connected to external amplification, same thing, I plays for a second right after the OS loads, then goes silent.
The speaker Switch was not activated when this happen last night, and just got kicks, I engage it and dis-engaged, nothing.
I guess it went into a "Comma". (

Did you do anything with the midi settings??

Try changing the midi set! Maybe you turned off all local control!

Do you have any pedals connected to it (expression etc.)???

If you need further help, you are more than welcome to call me!

Hi:

I already did the E80 Factory Reset, also check the Midi settings, local on, and I was not even near that when went silent.
I check also the speaker switch, connected to external amplification, NOTHING.
I had no pedals connected, midi, expression or sustain.

Is there a "Hard reset" or TEST MODE like in the Yamis?, you know, holding a C# while holding the chord in the first octave?....this also applies to the Clavinovas CVP, PSRs.
I located a Roland autorized center locally.
I will take it tomorrow there.

One other thing that you might want to try out is loading the OS again! You can download it from:
www.rolandkeyboardclub.com

What OS version do you have? 1.51 or 2.0?

IT WORKS....!!

A friend stop by and I showed to him the E80, and just by chance, happen to press the "DEMO" and I proceed to the styles, and sound came up, but not in the keyboard if you played, then I went to the DEMO Sounds, and Bingo....something happen, it WORKS.....keyboard and all.

Is a mystery to me why this happen, but, now I want let you know what happen, it does not make much sense to me, but I don't really care, like a friend of mine says, I drive the car, I don't fix them.
I am so happy now, I will be able to show it off tomorrow, I have 2 jobs.
Thank you for your support guys, I really appreciate it.

I am glad that it is working!

Still, check the OS-version and possibly update the OS!
