thats really sad news. But the fact is they could not survive with the high price low value business model in comparrison with its competitors.

Ketron are you listening......

Hi Spalding
They are not out of it yet, as the way the German system works is to allow the company breathing space to try and restructure. (Wersi have been down this route before)

Bohm went through the same problems in 2005, and they got themselves back on their feet, so don’t bury Wersi before their dead.

Fortunately as they are basically a Windows PC, parts will not be a problem as yet, and combine this with the fact that they can use 3rd party software means owners should not have worry for some time. (If a hardware manufacture goes down your pretty much stuck)

It will be interesting to see if they can survive yet again.

Bill

If the company goes down, even IF you can still get PC parts, who's going to troubleshoot it? Who's going to let you know WHICH computer part you need? The Geek Squad at Best Buy?

If this isn't all the proof we need that basing your sales strategy around über-expensive high end niche products in a global meltdown is just plain suicide, I don't know what is... (you taking notice NOW, Ketron?)

Wersi had amortized their R&D in OAS YEARS ago, and could easily have brought out product that brought its' great integration with arranger and VSTi (far better than the MS's) quicker and cheaper than the new Pegasus. But greed and bad management have precipitated this. And no amount of Brett Wales demos are going to be able to fix this...

It's easy, folks... first one to the gate with an arranger/VSTi hybrid that DOES address what arranger players REALLY want affordably is going to clean up. And the rest will all be 'whatever happened to...?'

Not often you see those words together in the same sentence.

Other than "Fortunately, I've NEVER had a Windows PC"
