I just got a Roland JV-1010 and an A-33 midi controller, and they work very well on a standard midi interface, but when I try to connect them to my notebook by way of the Host connection on the back of the JV-1010 to the Serial port on my notebook, nothing happens. I've followed all the steps to the letter and I need some help...badly! Has anyone made the connection successfully? All suggestions are welcomed.

Yes, works fine with switch set to PC2 and Roland v 2.5 serial driver installed from JV-1010 disk.
Don't forget midi jacks are shut off, now.
