Hi guys.
Wondering if you can help me out here. I'm looking for the following midi files.

The Voyage
Ordinary Man.
Ride On.

All by Christy Moore. I have searched the net like crazy and I've only found one website (www.emeraldtracks.com) that has 2 of the 3 I'm looking for, but I'm not entirely impressed with the quality as the notes played are wrong.

Anyone know of any other source ?

Cheers
James

James,

I'm not familiar with any of them, but this link may help. Some come with attached midi files. http://www.irishsongs.com/lyrics.php?Action=letter&Letter=I

Hi Gary.
Thanks for your help. Unfortunately that site doesn't have anything I'm looking for. They would be more tourist type songs than anything we would listen to ourselves.

I don't think I have any other option at this point but to buy the two midi files and lay down a few of my own tracks to correct the files. I'll have to sequence the third one from scratch.

Well worth it though.

If you would like to have a listen, someone posted them on YouTube.

The Voyage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_surYSjPZQA

Ordinary Man ( You will love this one, it's about hard times and recession) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt9Iqa79vfU

Ride On. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-z7M3FZv4E

That's REAL Irish music..

Regards
James

Thanks for the links James. With luck, and hopefully dry weather, I'll have FIOS tomorrow afternoon and be able to download the songs. I'm looking forward to hearing them. Saint Patrick's Day is among the most sought after for private parties in this part of the world. The more Irish songs I know, the better the paycheck.

Thanks again,

Gary

Well then trust me on this. Learn off those 3 songs and you will get some serious brownie points as it's not traditional music or diddle eye music as we call it, but real Irish music that regardless of what age you are its highly respected by everyone here.

The Voyage is about a young couples venture through life from the point where they get married to when the first kids come along and the difficulties life brings. Really beautiful.

Ordinary Man is a real as it gets to the honest working class man trying to do this best for his family and his home in these hard times.

Ride On on the other hand is nowhere as deep, but yet beautiful in it's own right and well respected.

James

James,

Just listened to the songs, they're beautiful. I believe they would be fairly easy to play--not many chord changes, and several ballad styles would suit them well.

Thanks again for the links,

Gary

Glad you liked them.
I got the backing tracks in the end for The Voyage and Ride On and a friend has Piano Score for Ordinary Man. So I'll be sequencing that the weekend.

Cheers
James
