I think administrative matters should be left to the administrator. I don't think we should be trying to coerce Nigel into a decision that is his alone to make. Besides, it's usually better to let sleeping dogs lie. JMO.

Donny Pesce
[2/24/2010 10:42:08 PM] Francis Carango: Dear Synthzone Arranger Forum,

I have written this letter to you to sum up our differences. I wanted to apologise for what happened between us.

I used an alias and vulgar language against people which i regret.

You told me how it made you feel and I understood how much I had hurt you all.

I learned from my actions and that I will make sure not to make the same mistake again.

I promised to you that if I ever did anything like that again, to you or to anyone else, I would take the consequenses and make this suggestion:

'permanent banning'

I apologized to you and hoped that you would forgive me but I also said that I understand that it is up to you to decide if you forgive me or not.

I'll start:
I think Donny has "manned up" and made a sincere and humble apology, and also set the punishment for any future occurrence - a permanent ban - ...
I am not trying to put pressure on Nigel, and I've always held to the fact that this is his playground, and we are all invited here for a 'play-date', but I for one would like to see Donny back ...
I would also like to see people like Scott Yee and others whose names I can't think of (DAMNED senior moments!!!) - but you know who you are - posting more often ...
Whenever you are ready, Nigel ... it is your call ...

I'm with Tony on this one, but, also realize that it's totally Nigel's call.

I'd like to see Donny back, as well as see a few others posting again.

I think the thing that could give Nigel pause is the repeat offender nature of this stuff. This is the 2nd time in a fairly short period that Nigel was compelled to suspend him. I don't feel sorry for him but I do suspect we'll see him back at some point...

I hope he brings his knowledge, experience and friendliness back and leaves the masquerading on the sidelines...

We'd be foolish, as a community, to reject him when he returns...

Maybe this time it'll work out...

This is not a Democracy. Nigel never claimed it was. It's also not the Coliseum where we can give the 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down'. I think we should cease and desist trying to pressure the administrator into altering or accelerating whatever time-frame he had in mind (it's probably not going to work anyway). I admire the loyalty of Donny's handful of personal friends but don't believe this is the right tactic to use. The only person who can reinstate Donny is Nigel, so if you want to help Donny's case, then you should be communicating with Nigel directly rather than using the medium of the public forum to try to apply pressure. I think, if anything, it's gracious of Nigel not to have locked or deleted this thread (and any others that spring up). We've never had a problem in the past about the administrative decisions Nigel has made, why start now? BTW, this should not be construed as a negative petition against Donny; I don't care if he's reinstated today, tomorrow, six months from now, or never. I just think that that decision should rest where it rightly belongs.

Donny had done a few things (since his banning) to earn some 'brownie points', all duly highlighted by his supporters and accompanied by what appears to be a sincere apology. That's commendable; I suppose everyone is capable of redemption and deserves a third or forth chance, but that's for Nigel to decide. JMO.

chas ... I agree with you, as per my quote:

"I am not trying to put pressure on Nigel, and I've always held to the fact that this is his playground, and we are all invited here for a 'play-date', but I for one would like to see Donny back ..."

I don't think anyone here is trying to put pressure on Nigel, at least I hope not, and I think people here are only letting their opinions be known ...

Nigel has done a GREAT job with this board over the years and will continue to do so HIS way, and to that I say AMEN !

It's 100% up to Nigel, but if he ever does come back - Donny is a great guy... If what he says, sometimes strikes a chord with you - just ignore it. If you learn from it or enjoy it, then thank him and move on. We've all said things we regret.

That totally cracked me up. But I am not easy to convince as this was the 3rd ban over the year. The last 2 times I was lenient and reinstated earlier than I'd intended so I am not in a hurry this time. But maybe this time next month I will reconsider the situation. That will be 3 months into the ban.

I think it was the "I will do it again" in the video that made me a little cautious. I tend to believe it

Well, I don't know about that...it was Jib Jab providing the content...I just provided the head-shot.

I did send it to Donny first (just checkin') and he was all for posting it. I think he understands the lightheartedness of Fran's original post and other contributions. I think he also understands Nigel's position and will respect his decision.

I'm glad he continues to hang around, waiting for the door to open. When most folks leave, they just leave. I miss them too.

Look,

Nigel runs this club and maybe just maybe you should not mention anything about anyone who has been banned, whether you like it or not it puts pressure on Nigel, frankly he sounds like a nice guys who must grit his teeth at times. When I read back what I have written sometimes I get close to the wire. But since so many people are waiting to join the club, would it not be better once banned, never to return and give someone else a chance, if I get banned, I dont want to come back, I think if you get out of jail you will go back in again. People who are banned will do it again, its obvious! Anyway, where is my 1700.00 I havent found it yet and neither as anyone else, Im going to keep searching, hope you can all help. Now let Nigel do Nigel jobs.
BBBB I just picked you message it wasn't aimed at you , it's just general.

Send us the link to Donny Facebook, I wouldn't dare to put my mugshot on Facebook, if I did Ketron would know what I looked like, come looking for me and I would get more than my 1700.00 back. I'd be sleeping with the fish. BTW is that what you do when you get banned off SZ, go and haunt some else on Facebook, hell what a life, even Shawsank Redemption at a better endings! If you say you are not putting pressure on Nigel and you put it into words, it usually means you are!

Not this again.

yes Tony I admit freely that you and a few others had stability issues as pointed out to you many times because of the loading procedure. I am not going to quote all that again, just see the message on the UK Ketron forum

plus your hijacking someone elses thread.

I'd pay the extra money for a Korg that sounded as good as the Ketron...

Honestly, do you actually PLAY them, Tony, or do you just read the manual and beat on the buttons? I suggested MONTHS before you got around to it to completely reload the HD, but oh no.... you knew better, didn't you? Well, I'm giving you a heads up. If you can't HEAR 1700 quid difference between the Korg and the Ketron, sell it NOW. You must be deaf!

And, please, for the love of God (you play at a church, don't you?), start a thread called the 'Tony Bitches Here' thread, and keep it ALL on just that one. So the rest of us can pretend that you don't exist, and ignore it And get our forum back

Diki,

I've told you till I am sick and tired, even if you read the words you don't need to join in singing, just go through the motions, you ain't bought that Auyda yet and I wonder why, anyway this thread is about people getting banned by Nigel and not coming back on ever again, that was my spin on it! Diki you have 8087 hits SZ I have a mere 649. it's your forum, I pale into insignificance and bow at your feet, I am but your apprentice.

My post numbers aren't ALL on the same tired, worn out topic. Yours are. Even my fixation with keeping the open keyboard fanboys honest pales into insignificance compared with your tirade against your own stupidity (that's the only way you can honestly look at it) you excuse by blaming Ketron.

Not to mention your complete silence on this forum when the action I suggested MONTHS ago, when you finally did it, actually cleared up your buttons problem that you, the purported expert, claimed couldn't POSSIBLY be a software installation issue. Face a little red? Worried your professional colleagues might hear about your gaff? Still think you know everything?

Probably...

Diki,
I can say first of I am a realist and I am afraid I must admit and I must agree with you on a few points. I was taken in by the glossy leaflet (not just me)and the salesman who in his long years (35) of experience in the KB industry said this was undoubtedly the best KB on the market and as you quiet rightly advocate between the lines, it may now not be, or ever. I was told when I bought it, it would do everything I would want it to do, the main UK dealer now tells me and everyone, it should blow my clothes off and OS4 my socks, Diki what do you say to him, and dont be rude! At least the Main UK dealer and Don do believe in it even if you and I dont. Now the price, when the dealer who sold it says its the best KB ever what do you do, you want the best if you can afford it, I didnt know I was buying the Company, it doesnt say that on the leaflet. Anyway to sum up and get to the bottom of it you are calling me a stupid idiot and thats the rub, well maybe I am, but I am just an ordinary Joe who plays for free to entertain old people and other charitable organization I dont take a spare KB like others do, I just take me and the PA2x, I dont take a spare car to work just in case, Im not that clever , I am a simple idiot Diki who helps to keep the Italians in work and all I want is what I was told I had, you know I was ripped off and I know I was, when Audya is finished and it does what it what they says it will do (if at all)I will hang my head in shame wear sack cloth beat my chest and say mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Diki, you have my word on it I will do it, I will even show my bare backside in Marks & Spencers window if Ketron get it right! Ill even put a photo on Facebook alongside yours! Now to get back on track (DNJ) do you Diki agree that people who are banned on SZ should stay banned for life and let others who can be tested for their knowledge of KB and are in possession of adequate good manners that do not offend others seeking to put their valid point across, just a yes or no will do. We could take a vote on this but that would be totally against having Nigel and just imagine if you or I were moderators, we would both be banned to the depths. I would ban you and you would without doubt ban me, but who would get up early enough in a morining to do it!

Have a nice day Diki
