I bought an xp 30 and the only way I can connect it with my computer is through the serial port(computer 8 pin mini din on the xp 30).The serial port in the back of my computer has two exits,a 9 pin and a 25 pin.The mouse is on the 9 pin leaving the 25 free and that is where I put the cable. The problem is that it works only one way.The computer sends signal to the xp,I was able to play a midi file with cubase using the xp's sounds, but I can not play from the keyboard and record in the sequencer. Also the Sound Diver gives me an error message, saying it can't find the device.I checked the ID,even the cable's resistance, and I don't know what to do.If anyone has an ideea, please tell me.

Hi!

I had the same problem in the same situation.
Try to install other drivers from the factory CD. It didn`t work for me,but try it maybe it will work for You. I bought a Midiman Midisport 2x2 midi interface and I don`t use the serial port any more, because this interface has an USB connection. It`s perfect for me. You can find some info at www.midiman.com .

Tomi
