http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=1062 Tom, No it is not a replacement for the G70 harmonizer...It does not analyze like the G70..for example songs that are SMF's, without selecting a pre selected midi channel..It will not do a lot of the things we can do with the G70 harmonizer..recognizing Tune 1000 tracks automatically is another thing the G70 will do..playing as a real vocal vocoder..
The VP7 is a VP770 module with most of the same goodies..
It cannot replace my G70 harmonizer, but what the VP7 will do for me (Yes I have one ordered..
)...I need the great Choir /Scat voices when I use the Prelude..(like the Fantom the choirs suck and no scats aboard)...The GS instrument ..G70 still rules in choirs and real human voices..let alone scat..
Being able to use the features of the VP7 will be cool with the Prelude..as long as I play the voicing I want with harmony..I will have to experiment a bit with channel assign as I did with the Tune 1000 Harmony box..
Now let me get back to the zeppole...
