I need to get a new keyboard amp for my Tyros 2. I only gig at private parties and clubs - most of the folks I play for are 50+ years and like light dance music, Buffett, Eagles, etc. Once in awhile I crank it up, so to speak, and do a Doobie Brothers, Beatles, Santana, etc.

I'm trying to decide between the Roland BA330 and the SA300 - not one store in my area carries either one so I can't give them a test ride. On occasion, I have a sax buddy join me and also a singer. Light weight is a must - full sound required - moderate vol level - and I need the amp to accurately match the Tyros 2.

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

Bill

I have a SA 300 that I use with a Tyors 2. I think it would do fine for what your doing. I've used it with good results in a dou(keyboards/vocals and acoustic guitar) The only thing I don't like about it is it makes alot of white noice. It only bugs me when I'm practicing at home. In a normal gig situation it's not audible.

I haven't heard an BA330 yet so I can't give much input other than folks here seem to be really happy with it.

What are you using now?

I'm using a Roland KC500 that is too heavy for me and need something lighter. It is actually too big for what I need.

Thanks,
Bill

The SA 300 would be a very nice upgrade from the KC500- sounds better-especially vocals, light weight, reverb, built in mixer. There's lots to like

I've gotta stop shopping for new stuff!! I'm interested in the BA300, read here about the SA 300 and now I see some good deals on them. Confused???
Sa300 seem to be a lot more versitale. Top unit for the mellow gigs and the full system for the bigger ones. Two fo them for the DJ parties. Its what I've been after. Small, light and modular.

Thanks to all for the replies.

I've decided to go for the SA300 without seeing or test driving one - gulp!

I too reside in NJ. Have you seen any SA300 in NJ to test ride?

Maybe we can get a better deal buying 2 at the same time.

I too suffer from the buying new gear disease!!
