Boy if I aint the biggest pain in the a$$ huh?
I've asked questions about the MU90R, the QSR, the SC880 even a few earlier about the JV1010.
I've read manuals and tried sound modules. And so far the QSR seems to be the only module that can suit my needs but it requires settingup my own "mixes".
Anyone using the JV1010 to playback sequences? (I figure theres probably a few out here).
My question is.. or rather let me present what I'd liek to do and you can hopefully tell me if it's possible with the JV1010.
I have GM sequences that I made. Most use only 2-4 tracks/channels. I also have a Midi Merge box. I want to play my sequences from my computer's midi out into the merge box and I also am sending my midi signals from my Fatar SL880 into the merge box. Lets say I send the Fatar on channels 1-4 and I set my sequenced tracks to 5-16. Now all this (two midi sources) are merged into the one MIDI out from the merge box. Simple right?
Now can I access say "Session" sounds from channels 1-4 and let my other sequenced channels 5-16 go to the GM bank on the JV1010.?????????????
or will I be restricted to only one bank of my choosing on the JV1010 by my swithing the Bank Select knob? (ie, GM bank or Session bank or Piano bank...)
This is very important for me. I want to be able to select patches through my sequencer/Midi file and if they have to be restricted to GM I could live with that, But I'd really love to play sounds not in the GM bank along with my sequence.
Somebody? Anybody? Please Help!
I purchased a QSR because I'm pretty sure this can be done by setting up my own "Mix" in the user bank. But it would be a long and painstaking task and would have it's limitations. Like I would have to recreate say the GM 001 piano into User Bank 001 and so one for all my most needed GM sounds, then create my own sounds and store them in the User bank too.... Effectively building my own Bank with a mix of sounds.
However I also bought the Alesis QSR because there was a promotion to get a free Q card. Then the salesman claim they know nothing about it and so today I have to contact Alesis and I might have to argue with them to get my q-card. The Jv1010 is hundred buck cheeper and has more sounds so if I can do what a mentioned above with the JV1010, I just might tell the Alesis people to shove off and go for the JV1010 and save myself 100 in the meantime ya know?
Well, much thanks in advance.
