I would like to know is anyone has any recommendations for a midi sequencer that works well with the xp-30...have an older version of Cakewalk Pro Audio and need to upgrade...I use the vs studio for audio and sync to the xp-30 and it works great...

Up until recently I was using motu digital Performer for the Mac but dumped my Mac and got a small Pc..the Digital Performer had patch list situation set up great where you just recall the patches for all the banks (except those for the expansion boards, only set up for jv-2080 and and 1080)....

any windows sequencers have this capability that anyone knows of??

Captain-
Why dump your Mac with MOTU DP to get a PC????

Unfortunately you probably already know that DP isn't available on PC.

How about checking out the latest version (version 9) of Cakewalk Pro Audio if you were already using it in an earlier version. This seems to have become a very mature sequencing program over the last couple of years.

I use Logic and let me tell you that it is deep and very flexible.

The same goes for Cubase VST.

If you only want to do midi sequencing, then ditch the high end versions of the above programs and get the lower cheaper versions which still contain most of the midi functions.
