I have just bought a xp-50, i do not have a manual, i have not been able to get synth and pc to talk, can anyone help??

Can you be more specific? If there is no comunication at all, the problem should be in your midi conections or midi card.
I have a JV 1080 and I understand it pretty much, I understand it is very similar to the XP-50. Check your midi channels and switches in system mode.

Thanks for the reply.
Here is how i have set it up.
midi in/out connected to mpu401 socket on souncard, speakers plugged into sound card.
Not sure what to turn on or off, but settings in midi setup on keyboard are factory settings.
loaded cubase, nothing detected on midi or midi out.
Do i have to press somthing to make it active
I have a vortex a3d sound card (PCI)

Hooray, ive done it
Called a roland shop, check a few things
found that midi in\out were wrong way round
DOH
