I wonder if there is a patch of soundfonts of Roland near to the XP synthesis, or SOMETHING not so GM standard sounds. I like XP-80 presets a lot and the GM sound so diferent...I'm I missing something here?

have you tried creating your own soundfonts from the roland? It can be quite time consuming but I know people who have done it.
You just need to record audio samples of the patches you want and then map them to which notes you want...easy!!

That seems to envolve a lot of work but...
OK I record 1 note in *.wav,from a Preset of roland XP-80. But what to do next? How I convert this audio file into something like a soundbank?

The programs I mainly use are:
-Cubasis VST
-Vienna studio
-Cool edit 2000 or Wavlab lite

What can I do for Cubasis VST accept a new soundbank instead of GM?

So, if you could help me on that I really thank you. I'm full of music in my head, I cannot play it because I find easier to work on PC that on the workstation.

The PC is still controlling what the XP80 plays is it not?
That's what's confusing us all.
Your sequencer should be able to play MIDI as well as audio.
Using MIDI all the sounds come out of the XP80, with the sounds that you want, and like, and you can even change them without distorying the sequence.

You don't have to be stuck in SoundFont mode!

OK!!!!!!!! no need to get arsey, you just didn't make yourself very clear.
IF you want the sounds of the XP80 you need to do it via MIDI...here is what to do.

1. press the patch button
2. press the local/tx/rx button and set local to off
3. connect you MIDI lead to the games port of your computer The MIDI out should go to the MIDI in of the XP80 and vice versa
4. put the XP80 into sequencer mode
5. select your playback MIDI device in Cubase to external MIDI
6. Connect your headphone jack of The XP80 to the line in of the computers soundcard
7. make sure the Xp80 MIDI channels are corresponding to those of the sequencers and make sure the linein isn't muted on your computer
