Forgive me, Chas, for starting another Audya thread.

I guess American Rock means different things to different people. Anyway, It was nice to see AJ.

Okay, I know I'm going to get crucified for saying this BUT......using that demo as an example, I'm having a really hard time seeing the MONUMENTAL IMPROVEMENT of the Audya drums and bass over say, a PA1x/2x. In fact, in a 'blind taste test', I'm not sure I'd be able to tell which was which. Now this probably says more about me (and my failings) than it does about the instrument. Maybe my tastes (and hearing) are just less discriminating. My problem is, that even if the drums themselves sound live, it's still not what a 'live' drummer would actually be playing with any given tune. In other words, I'd rather have a good, live drummer playing a (good) electronic drum kit on my tracks than have a good-sounding, well-recorded, but totally 'generic', non-song-specific, audio loop, on my tracks. Just me, I guess. One is human (despite the sound source) and the other is a machine (despite the sound source) and the machine is never going to respond spontaneously to every nuance of your playing like a good, live drummer. So, given that, who cares whether it's a 'midi' drum or an 'audio' drum. In fact, except for who or what triggered the drum sound, what's the difference? I must be missing something. I hope so. If so, by all means, 'splain it to me'.

Just curious, but does this come with OS4 installed, hence the price revision!???

At least those shops are honest and inform you it's taken in return and box package is broken.
Not all dealers do that, they just sell it as new or maybe as demoed in shop ......
B-Ware or not, Audya still heavy priced ......honesty is priceless.

Cheers

Good demo. I have edited that style a little, substituting for the distortion guitars and making it a little more old school.
There is also American Rock 2 that I use a lot. AJ didn't do much with the fills and breaks, but they are really great with both those styles. I use one or the other for several CCR songs, but nearly always use one of the short endings and play my own.
It is probably OS3. At least it doesn't sound any different from mine, except for my adjustments.

Yeah... possibly not the Audya being shown at its' best...

My G70's Rock styles are pretty much indistinguishable from this, but with the one benefit of being able to be easily re-voiced into a different sound altogether with the push of one button

It's amazing how much damage ONE bad demonstrator can do.

Agreed, Diki. Plain Jane deal from start to finish on that one. Why, if this arranger is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread, would they allow a demo like this?
