Hia folks, I am currently shopping for a workstation in the price range of the xp-60 the only thing stopping me from buying this is a problem i'v heard of involving a "grunge static noise problem" on patches with long sustain. Has anyone else heard of this? Did Roland fix the problem? Help I'm losing sleep Any help would be great!!!

Yes, there is a "noise problem" with the XP-30, 60, and 80, but it is 100% imperceptible to me in all sequencing and recording I've done using my XP80. The "static" occurs as the sound's decay or release phase ends and is significantly more pronounced when the reverb effect is turned on. Go audition an XP60 in a quiet area/during a quiet time at your music store and see if it bothers you. If you want a workstation keyboard and don't like the XP60, you could get a used XP-50 (no "noise problem", but interface isn't as easy to use as XP60's) or look at a Kurzweil K2000 or Korg Trinity. Good luck.
