I'm using an XP50, I can download Midi patches on line, save to foppy and load them into her but most free patches on the net I find are in sysex format.

So I need some software to convert syx patches to midi. Can I find anything?

Can you, do you, would you...let me know where and what I need. It's so frustrating.

Anyone please get in touch.

Many thankx

Vicky

Search "sysex to midi" in the archives of this forum. You should find what you need.

Good luck.

Ok, now I give up. I've gone through 30 pages dating bac to 1999. Looks like I've missed the boat on that one. Pitty coz i've found plenty of downloads in sysex format.

So as a last hope if anyone has a tool/ program for converting sysex to midi, please e mail me or something.

Tar Vick x

Hi!

Here is a link for you: http://www.wsd.net.au/jvxp/download/programs.html

You should find what you need here. Dnarkosis is right; this has been discussed here on several occasions..

I did actually find some links through the archives but the pages had either been removed or had changed there address etc. Which other's who've e mailed me can also confirm.

Funnily enough I know this website, cames across it months ago, but never knew i'd be needing patch convertors in the future so I didn't book mark it! lol Thanks again though.

Many thanks, stigf; I haven't been back to that site in literally years. BTW: I think Geir Kilsti's site has long been vaporized, which is a shame, since he had these great patch/waveform lists for all the expansion boards and such.

Now someone can tell us how to use the sysex-to-.mid utility. I'm clueless.

Thanks to Spellcaster for helping me figure the utility out privately. Seems it "deposits" the finished .mid file at different places on different computers. But all is calm again.
