Can I send to my computer the sound bank fonts of Roland Xp-80? I do not mean GM fonts but the PR A, B, C., in order to my soundblaster Audigy use that sound bank in recordings?

no..

The XP's patches are data for the synth, the sampled waveforms are stores in the machine.
SoundFonts are combined samples, plus some data.
They are not compatable.

Thanx sonic. You mean I cannot edit the notes with Cubasis (for instance) when I record a sample from PR-A of XP-80? The only form to record a music played witha sample of PR-A is a *.WAV?

Once you are in the WAV domain.....tinkering around with sounds becomes more tricky.
My advice is to keep things in the MIDI domain for as long as possible. Sequence them using cubasis until everything is how you want it. Make sure every part is on a seperate track (even parts of the same MIDI channel) then record the whole part to WAV for sound manipulation. Then track them in cubasis (although you are limited to only 8 parts).
Another option that might appeal is to use sound fonts which is an option provided by the Audigy. This basically works like a simple sampler for your soundcard where samples can be loaded into and played back. however, you will not be able to use the
synthisis of the xp to change the sound.
Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help!
When you refering to samples of Audigy, you are refering to changing SoundFont options? Like "CT8MGM - 8MBGSFX E-um Ver B" or "CT4MGM – 4MB GMGSMT"? Isn't there any other sounds I can use near to XP-80 synthezis, more cooler that the GM based?

Check out www.hammersound.net and download the 32 MB reality soundfont for instance. in some sections this might sound even better then you xp80.
you can always make a gm soundfont yourself of course.

this should link you directly to the reality soundfont: http://www.hammersound.net/cgi-bin/soundlink_download2.pl/Download%20USA%20III;Reality_GMGS.sfArk;203

Hi Bungle! ... and Thank you!
I already downloaded the soundfont from the link you suggested. it's a file called realityGM-GS.sfArk. The problem is that I have a Audigy platinum soundcard, the soundfont program of Audio HQ (software) only read *.sbk, *.sf2 and *.dls files. How can I load a file like *.sfArk you recomended? Is there any special software needed?
note:I use CUBASIS VST for recording, and COOL EDIT 2000 for editing.

It's a shareware program from melodymachine that packs and unpacks soundfonts only...
grab it at: http://www.melodymachine.com/sfark.htm

I already decompressed the soundfont of reality and load it on the Soundbank of the Audigy card. Everything's OK, but... I cannot ear any difference, it's the same 128 sounds of GM! I tried on Cubasis VST and on the small creative keyboard. The bank is there but the sound remains the same. Am I missing something here?
