I am a beginner . How can I play user patches in Cakewalk . So far I can only play GM instruments .

Go to the tools Instrument Defination/import option there you will find instrument defination file by company select the company under that all instrument of that company will be displayed select the instrument which you want than it will be added in your instrument definations select all the chanels & assigned in to that instrument than you will be able to select your different banks & sounds.

Thanks for the tip . I dowloaded the INS file and imported it into cakewalk . I can now choose the xp60 patch I wish to play but still what I hear is still the GM instrument corresponding to the patch number .
Any idea ?
