Tonewheeldude is right on the update procedure. It's not just simply downloading files and copying to your Hard Drive. It's about copying specific files into specific folders of your Hard Drive. A wrong COPY move or missing 1 or more files and we're back to square one.
The Pen Drive was/is the only way to garantee such - which is why we have you install the new software 4.1 FIRST from the Pen Drive before loading the other file ... as this software has a management function which allows AUDYA to copy the respective files into their respective folders ... something very very hard to manage via a simple download, regardless of how well the instructions are written. It also bypasses the us of a PC which obviously wasn't clearly understood by many.
If you want to simply upgrade the Operating System (you don't want the New Sounds, Styles, Program Voices, Update GM voices ... etc, but want the new functions), we've made that version available and downloadable on our website at www.ketron.it.

I think nowdays nearly everyone has a broadband connection and downloading even some GB of software isn't much of a problem. They would have saved the costs of purchasing that personalized USB pens.....
This takes 3.5 hours to load on, would you go to bed and leave your Audya connected to the WWW, do you know of any other software upgrade that takes 3.5 hours, I can't think right off hand! It was a no goer on the web.

Maybe you could download a file or a bunch from the designated web site, copy them in an empty usb pen drive run a utility that would check file integrity (ketron programmers would have provided it) and only then place the pen drive in your Audua and run it.

Yes, Kontakt 4, Goliath, Symphonic Choirs and few others but...they all are over 40GB each and will eat Audya for Breakfast and Audya 4 for Lunch...and they dont take 3.5 hours, only the most 2 hours on a Good computer for copying the Libraries.

Tony I dont think the writer was suggesting that you would keep an Audya conneced to the WWW, I think he was saying his computer and then trasferring to a pen drive with a file that authentictes the process to keep the drive with the Audya

Yes, but any of those programs write to the PROMS in your computer, like I think the PEN upgrade do.

Yes, the upgrade is significant. I didn't see more styles, but all the styles are much more balanced. The Dance styles in particular are like night & day.
All the sounds are much better.I feel like my Audya is a newer and a much better keyboard.
