What's a "pratt"?
I still use a Yamaha KX5 on gigs from time to time ... if "pratt is a noun, does that make me a "fat pratt"
Ciao,
Jerry

Prat : British, an incompetent or stupid person; an idiot

truth be told I was a prat for not noticing there was too many t's...

If I was American, I might have used 'dork' but I'm not so, I didn't.
I could have used many Anglo-Saxon words and phrases to describe to look of someone using a 'KeyTar', but I resisted.

This past Friday, I used the KX5 for a Margarita Festival. It worked great for the venue. I tried to paste a photo (without success) so everyone could see what a "Fat Prat" looks like.

Yo Dave, good to see your post. For smaller venues, Rich of the Budesa Brothers uses a Roland KeyTar rather than the B3. It's truly amazing to hear what he does with this abbreviated keyboard. Rich Budesa is certainly a KeyTar player who is not a "prat".
Ciao,
Jerry

My guess is you probably were. He strikes me as someone who actually sequences his own backing tracks rather than use off-the-shelf stuff. I found some other clips of this guy playing horizontal keyboards, he's very good.

Here you go: Click Here And he is using the arranger functions on the non-strap-on tunes.

Don't ever recall Jan Hammer being accused of being a prat back in the Mahivishnu days. I guess the degree of 'prat-ness' depends on the skill of the prat playing it!

I still prefer my KX-5 and old M-GS64 module as a 'sit-in' rig for just about any band - set's up quick, takes up NO room on stage, excels in expressiveness. You haven't LIVED until you have really got the possibilities of bending, trills AND vibrato all under the direct control of your fingers. Vibrato SPEED, shape and depth all infinitely variable in realtime... show me a WS or arranger with THAT!

Despite a quite antiquated sound source (the rack is about the equivalent of an old Super Sound Canvas), I get comments every time I play about how expressive and unique its' sound is from musicians and audience alike. In fact, I am always feeling a little hobbled whenever I get back on a conventional keyboard (turning your hand over to play on a pitch-strip changes the whole 'natural-ness' of the whole deal) to solo.

Let's face it, if using a keytar makes you a 'prat', 90% of all the guitarists out there are equally prat-ish

He seems to be using a wireless system also....wonder what country he is in looks nice?
Just another example version of a one man band and he does his thing very well.
