Actually the Tyros is only about 7 lbs lighter than the PA2Xpro...but, it is easier to manage, and would require a smaller, and therefore lighter, road case.

The Roland G-70 is the pig...it weights 45 lbs, and in a road case, is quite cumbersome to move.

Not true. The Tyros 3 is 27lbs; the Pa2x is 40lbs. That makes the Pa2x about 50% heavier, and that's a big difference in a bulky package.

In addition the outer dimensions of the Pa2x and Tyros 3 are almost identical. (Pa2x is 67.5 combined inches, Tyros 3 is 68.5). The only difference is that the Pa2x is longer and the T3 wider.

Chony...it is the circumference that I speak about..and YES, I have them both, Well the T2 was recently sold to my friend).
The T2 is very deep and is hard for me to grab with 1 arm. To me the PA2 is easier to grab..I said it is 'heavier'..but as Ian says not all that much..

I have short arms but...I'm pretty strong.

You missed my point...76 keys is not the deciding factor in portability.
It is the quality/type of build in most cases.

Try moving my Kurzweil K2600X around (88 notes) BUT, bands do all the time..they are really built to take it.

If my main thing was to take it daily to assisted living centers for a couple hours playing..I'd have a PSR S900.

But, not everyone needs the portability.
Probably 80% don't need it, maybe more.

The shipping case for the G70 was oversized, for protection purposes. But put one in a fitted flight case, and it isn't much of a problem. We all move speakers around more heavy (or at least, most of us do), so weight is NOT the issue. Which only leaves learning to move around the SIZE of the thing. A dolly, underneath the case, and learning sensible leverage techniques, a handle at both ends (as well as in the middle), and I can assure you, I almost NEVER, even when I AM moving solo, have to pick up the entire weight of the case and keyboard. Roll it up to the car, put one end in, lift the other (half weight)... Don't you guys DO this?

I would bet that most of us pick up our speakers' full weight far more often than the entire weight of our keyboards. And, if THAT don't give us a hernia, why is the keyboard any different..? It's a bloody sight more integral to our sound and performance than one type of speaker over another. Yet we place FAR more importance on shaving weight off them, and accept often a very inferior product, to shave a mere four to six pounds off of something we hardly ever carry...

Why are speakers more important than your main keyboard?
