In tyros 3 and 4 description it says i can only assign DSP effect 8 and 9 to a style.. this means i can only use 2 unique DSP effects for style parts?

This sounds like a severe trade off, as a software user i am used to assign every track its own effects, they make a sound so much more alive.

Can anyone explain to me in depth what options the DSP effects bring to the style department.

See now that's what i have been complaining about all these about the Tyros's,that's exactly the feature i want!
Bachus, what are you working with that allows every track it's own DSP??

I was hoping you meant a keyboard could do DSP for every track. Soft synths don't interest me any.
thx though!

I'm trying to think of a hardware keyboard that has several separate insert effects for EVERY Part...

Nope, can't think of ONE...

If you imagine that there can be upwards of eight Parts JUST for the keyboard Parts, then upwards of eight Parts for the Style section, then maybe sixteen more Parts addressable by MIDI, that's 32 Parts, So, say one insert effect on each Part, that's 32 INDEPENDENT effects units... Make that two per Part, 64!

There isn't a hardware keyboard in the world with those numbers!

I guess it's just one more example of how good open keyboards can be at everything. Except, apparently, MAKING MUSIC!

Realistically i would be tickled pink IF there were 6 individual DSP parts available in JUST the 'Style Creator' area function! I have no immediate use for all that MIDI & voice '64-eek' stuff yet.
I just want to be able to put
Distortion: into Phr1-2
Wah: into CHD1-2
Tempo delay: into Bass
Echo: into Rhy1
Tempo cross: Into Rhy2
Hall: Into Pad

Now thats a tad more convieniant excusable for a whopping $4000 tag affixed to some
updated Do do voices & some pretty blue pearly lighted buttons for me.

Bachus,
Exactly the same on Korg PA2XPRO..only 2 at a time in the style.

Example...reverb...and chorus

ACTUALLY, you have five DSPs on each style:

SENDS:
- Reverb
- Chorus
- DSP

INSERTS:
- DSP 8
- DSP 9

A shared DSP isn't the same thing as an insert... You want to use that benchmark, the most basic arranger out there has at least reverb and chorus sends for all its' style Parts...

Hence, 16 DSP's

What we are talking about is INDEPENDENT DSP's per Part.

But you knew that...
