Looking for ideas for waltzes, especially some more "modern" ones.

Have been doing Could I Have This Dance and Waltz Across Texas a lot due to popular requests, but am looking for some new ideas.

This is for ballroom oriented dance groups.

Recently added Hello Darlin by Conway Twitty after being requested. They seem to like it, and it's not a bad song once the whining steel guitar sounds are removed

Hi Scott

Google is a nice tool, and here is a page from Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waltz_(music)

Scroll down to middle of the page, and there's a lot of suggestions/examples.
Hope ths is for any help

Cheers

Scott,

The major problem with waltzes is obtaining a good selection of waltz styles that are suitable for the song your audiences recognize. If you need additional ones, let me know.

Check out Old Maderia Waltz and Blue River Waltz by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason.
www.jayandmolly.com

I use a swing waltz style on those which seems to work well.

I happen to live near andre Rieu... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX1fiE0U1qA
Thats the master of the waltz.. Arrangers can't even come close to such a performance

Here the same waltz on Tyros 3 by Robbie does (very good player) to show the difference : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX1fiE0U1qA
And here a german waltz on tyros 3 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxpmNYhPmxc&feature=fvst
A very different type of waltz.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okQDkp0RY30
This is an Organ orchestrated Waltz on the Roland attelier

A modern and a classical waltz on Korg PA series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIlb_HKc65Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSPqiazoTx4&feature=related

A french waltzer on the Audya http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjvRvIDelhU

So many different types of waltz, but if correctly played on a wedding you will have your dancefloor filled with people enjoying a good waltz.
